Code of Practice

What are the legal requirements when establishing a supplementary school?

They are the same as for any community or voluntary organisation working with children and young people. Provision must be safe and non-discriminatory.

Other requirements depend on factors such as whether you employ staff, own your premises, charge fees, etc.

We offer a three-day course (can be run over a term including weekends) to groups/partnerships to support good management and effective governance. Check our website for details.

To demonstrate the quality of your provision, you should log-in to self-assess your school here and register for the Quality Framework for Supplementary Schools
