Helping to foster the next bilingual/bicultural generation: The Ramgarhia Story

Come along to an important public meeting regarding one of East London’s key and longstanding community schools. Take advantage of the opportunity to talk to teachers, parents and trustees from other local community schools in Newham.

Opening: Lyn Brown, Member of Parliament, West Ham

Chair: Professor Li Wei, Institute of Education, University College London

Ramgarhia Panjabi School: Tarlok Singh Sura and Manjit Kaur Matharu

Keynote speaker: Dr Virginia Lam, Senior Lecturer, School of Psychology, UEL

Farkhanda Chaudry, Dental practitioner and UEL MSc researcher

Panel: Professor Terry Lamb , University of Westminster and Pascale Vassie, NRCSE

Closing: Vice-chancellor Professor John Joughin, UEL

Cultural activities by Ramgarhia Panjabi School children, refreshments and post-event networking. 1-2pm
