Supporting children with SEND in supplementary schools

What can supplementary schools do to support children with special educational needs and disabilities when community-led out-of-school provision is not eligible for statutory funding?

The final cohort for our pilot accredited training course for supplementary school teachers is taking place at the Muslim School of Oadby in Leicester.

We are grateful to the British and Foreign School Society for funding this pilot, where we will provide training to 70 community teachers from Milton Keynes, Leicester, Luton and Northamptonshire. Training is accredited by the Open College Network West Midlands and complements the learning from the Effective Teaching Skills course, adding a further 2 credits towards the Level 3 Cert in Teaching in the Supplementary Education Sector.
