Session 1

Date: Tues 29th August 2017

Start 10.30am          Finish 4pm

Welcome and introduction to the courses, why they have been developed and how they have been developed

  • Introduction to the Teacher and Learner resources
  • Planning a Pre-course meeting
  • How supplementary schools contribute to children’s development
  • Baseline assessment of trainees, planning and assessment
  • The National Curriculum and making the links between mainstream and supplementary education

 

Session 2

Date: Weds 30th August 2017

Start 10.30am          Finish 4pm

  • Lesson planning, learning styles and assessment
  • Teaching a Language in a Supplementary School module – bespoke for Arabic teachers from Arabic speaking countries.
  • Teaching in Islamic Supplementary Schools module

 

Session 3

Date: Tues 5th September 2017

Start 10.30am          Finish 3pm

  • Micro Teach
  • How to evaluate own teaching
  • Effective learning environment, welfare and safeguarding
  • Learner assessment and OCN administration
  • Evaluation and close

Criteria: Trainers should have prior experience of training adults, preferably holding PTLLS/DTLLS or equivalent, and be familiar with education system in GB

Cost: £450 for 3 days including refreshments and full set of resources.
