School directory

Welcome to the NRCSE Directory of Quality Assured Supplementary Schools! The directory is fully searchable with detailed information for out-of-school education settings. Entries include location, contact details, subjects taught and levels of quality assurance. Supplementary schools that have completed the Quality Mark have a comprehensive Quality Mark Report detailing findings.

The NRCSE Quality Mark builds on successful adherence to safeguarding standards. Quality assured schools are visited and teaching is observed by a registered Quality Mark mentor; evidence of the learning environment, teaching and financial management are presented for external scrutiny by educational and governance experts. Find quality assured out-of-school provision in your area by entering the local authority or town in the search box. Find all supplementary schools teaching a particular language by entering that language in the search box. Read Quality Mark Reports by entering Quality Mark in the search box.

Supplementary schools showing the NRCSE logo have completed our 3-day Good Management course within the last two years. The course supports organisations to evaluate and update their basic management procedures and is linked to each aspect of the Dept for Education’s Voluntary Code of Practice for out-of-school settings. Our 3-Day Good Management course is available to prepare supplementary schools and other out-of-school settings for inspection. NRCSE recognises and supports local authority and Ofsted safeguarding standards and all out-of-school settings having met local authority safeguarding standards can progress to the Quality Mark.

We now list only those supplementary schools that have completed safeguarding and good management training and are working towards quality assurance. This can be through your local authority quality mark, the NRCSE Quality Mark, Ofsted and other nationally recognised award schemes. Please subscribe to NRCSE to be included as a quality assured setting. Up to 31 July 2017, 489 schools had completed a Quality Framework Award. The QF Award scheme is now closed. To be sure that your school’s entry remains in the online directory, please log in and register for a Quality Mark!
