OCN-accredited courses

These courses can be combined to obtain the new national vocational qualification – Level 3 Certificate in Teaching in the Supplementary Education Sector.

All the modules are also available as stand-alone courses. The 6 credit courses can be run as five full-day or seven to nine half-day or twilight sessions. We can also run them as a combination of full and half days including evenings and weekends. All our courses require a commitment to the full course duration. Trainees will be assessed on the following: discussion and description of work; reflective diary; action planning; and short essays. For the ‘Teaching skills in supplementary schools’, ‘Teaching a language’ and ‘Teaching in Islamic supplementary schools’ courses there will also be an assessed micro-teach and practice file and learners will need to evaluate their own teaching practice.
