The Added Value of Language and Culture

July 5, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The NRCSE are happy to host a networking event exploring the theme: The added value of language and culture which is supplementary education.

This will be an interactive evening examining the value and potential of using language and culture as a gateway to educational achievement and well being. For all students who have English as an additional language or who have a cultural background that goes beyond England: use that rich and varied cultural background to access core curriculum subjects.

Language and culture play an important role in promoting identity and self-esteem. This in turn empowers the learners to feel confident in expressing their own ideas through their cultural matrix. As supplementary education providers you are in a key position to provide your students with the necessary tools for success.

With keynote speaker Ornette Clennon of Manchester Met University and MEAP (Making Education a Priority) and NRCSE trustee!

Learn how you can facilitate the process and be informed of the possibilities of using language and culture as an added resource.

The refreshments and sandwiches will be served during the event.

You can register yourself and your supplementary school’s staff and teachers here.
